This class is taught by:

Leigh .

Leigh Acosta has trained and performed pole for eight years throughout Arizona and Southern California. In 2007, she began training on various aerial apparatus including tissu, hoop, and trapeze. While her passion is in pole and aerial dance, she has also trained in modern, ballet, partner acrobatics, stilt walking, ballroom and swing dance. She has been fortunate enough to train under Jessica Lindsay (Aerial Showgirls). She has been featured in a variety of shows including Lucha VaVoom, Labyrinth of Jareth and the Ink-N-Iron Tattoo Festival. She is also the official aerialist/pole dancer for the Toledo Show and the Los Angeles Bondage Ball. Leigh has done opening performances for world-renowned performers such as Felix Cane and the band Lords of Acid. After much hard work and dedication she is happy to be able to teach her skills while still performing on a regular basis.

Zay Weaver has a BA in Theater Performance from Western Michigan University. Since 2005, she has been touring the globe with Aerial Angels, Stand Up Eight, and solo endeavors; performing circus in street shows, banquet halls, castles, and even a shopping mall in Dubai. While living in NC, she trained and instructed pole at her cousin's studio, Aradia Fitness. A recent transplant to L.A., Zay is pursuing a film career, studying long-form improv at IO West, and teaching circus arts at Kinetic Theory. She is happy to be joining the Evolve Family.
Come join the circus!! Aerial Silks, also known as Tissu, is taken directly from the big top and incorporates two long pieces of fabric suspended from the ceiling.  You'll learn death-defying drops, contortions and maneuvers from high in the air. Don't worry you'll get a warm up that will get your muscles flexible with conditioning moves that help prepare you for the single foot locks which lead into the elegant poses and more!
Please bring your yoga mat, or rent at the studio for $2!
